Engelhorn: Restructuring in the management

The Mannheim fashion retailer Engelhorn is reorganizing its management and appointing a new head of finance. The previous managing directors Andreas Hilgenstock and Simon Engelhorn are moving from management to the supervisory board, Engelhorn announced on Friday. CEO Fabian Engelhorn and COO Armin Weger remain on the management team. Sebastian Bungartz will join the team in April as CFO. Bungartz is currently active at the Dohle Handelsgruppe – according to his own information on the career network Linkedin. He has been working for the operator of the Hit supermarket chain for more than ten years, most recently as commercial manager and member of the management team.

Strengthen stationary retail

With the new management team, the fashion retailer wants to further strengthen stationary retail in 2024 despite the overall economic situation and also “strategically position” the areas of e-commerce and gastronomy for customers, according to the statement.

“We will continue to focus on creating positive experiences in the future because people are looking for this, especially in these times,” said Fabian Engelhorn.

Numerous events are also planned in Mannheim city center. But there are also other destinations on the other side of the Rhine. It is currently being examined whether the pop-up store in Ludwigshafen’s Rhein-Galerie will be continued in the long term. In addition, the sports shop in downtown Mainz is scheduled to open in 2026.
