Energy bill for households at lowest level in more than a year: more than 300 euros cheaper | Energy prices

The estimated annual bill for those who conclude an electricity contract in February has fallen to 1,413.68 euros. That is more than 300 euros cheaper than the estimated annual invoice in January. Even then there was already a sharp drop of several hundred euros compared to December.

For natural gas, the decrease is even greater. Anyone who concludes a contract in February is estimated to pay 1,942.35 euros on an annual basis. That is a saving of more than 500 euros compared to the estimated annual invoice in January. This is the lowest price level since December 2021 for both electricity and natural gas.

These are estimates by the VREG based on the tariff cards of the suppliers for February. But the drop is not only good news for those who sign a contract this month. Everyone with a variable energy contract ultimately benefits from the downward trend. Those who have a social rate pay much less than the commercial rates.
