After a short time he returned to the lawn, but then announced the substitution. “It’s a major muscle injury. It’s obviously very bitter for Martin and us,” said coach Oliver Glasner on Friday. “We’ll probably add him to the coaching staff now. He always gets players in the dressing room,” added Glasner.
Touré as a substitute also possible in the final
Glasner had come on as a substitute for Almamy Touré against West Ham, who defended alongside Tuta and Evan N’Dicka in the back three. Hinteregger had already had to pause the league game in Leverkusen and training at the beginning of the week because of a cold.
Substituting for Hinteregger are Tuta, who did Hinteregger’s job as head of defense with flying colors on Thursday, or Makoto Hasebe ready.
