Tennis icon Novak Djokovic excluded an early end of career after his clear semi-finals in Wimbledon.
“Hopefully it wasn’t my last game on the Center Court. I do not intend to end my Wimbledon career today,” said the 38-year-old after the three-set defeat against Jannik Sinner: “I plan to come back at least again.”
Djokovic had left chance against the world ranking on Friday in three sets, the seven -time tournament winner had to deal with physical problems.
How much he also takes care of his body, “reality now meets me, in the past year and a half, like never before,” said Djokovic.
This is difficult to accept, because “when I’m fresh, when I’m fit, I can still play really good tennis.” In the late rounds of a Grand Slam it would be difficult against the high -flyer Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic admitted.
He wants to make the best of what he “still has in his tank,” said Grand Slam record winner Djokovic: “It is just this physical aspect that bothers me. You are there. You want to play. You are determined. But then the body doesn’t want to hear. That’s it. That is what you can say about it.”
