Empty streets in Delftlanden are a thing of the past: the municipality now wants to complete the district

Another point of concern are the increased construction costs, high house prices and high interest rates. “That is not only the case here, but also in other places. Prices are high, sales prices are under some pressure. A contractor is already falling over here and there. The rising interest. People must be able to afford it. we see, but it is a point of concern,” said Otter.

And will there be a supermarket in the area? “We were sometimes interested in a supermarket, but that did not become serious. But we will now put this on the market. I hope that perhaps a small shopping center can land with a supermarket in it,” concludes Otter.

The reactions of the local residents who attend the walk-in meeting in the community center are positive. “We came to live here 15 years ago, even moved into the neighborhood once,” says a woman. “Yes, you come here because you want to live in a young neighborhood. We were on the plain for 12 years. It’s great that it’s going to be finished now.”

“And that supermarket? Yes, nice, but I don’t miss it now. The groceries are now delivered at home,” she laughs.
