Employees of the ArendState care center can take well-deserved leave, while healthcare students take over

In the ArendState residential care center in Assen, healthcare students from Hoornbeeck College and ArendState staff join forces to relieve the workload. The students take over the tasks for three days, allowing the permanent staff to catch their breath and the students to gain practical experience.

The pressure on healthcare staff is high. They also notice this at ArendState in Assen. It has therefore been decided to repeat the unique event of two years ago and give the employees leave, while healthcare continues at full speed. Fourth-year healthcare students will take over responsibilities for the next three days. This not only provides relief for the staff, but also gives students a valuable insight into the daily ins and outs of healthcare. Healthcare student Grethe Schenk is looking forward to it: “Working in healthcare is so important. A bit of attention that you can offer. You are really the one who can be there for them. I think it is the most beautiful thing there is and I have a lot of them. fancy”
