Another avant-garde noise project by Dave Lombardo. The infernal screams, the lamentable howls, the exalted crooning and the dadaistic, self-overtaking metal chopsticks are reminiscent of the collaborations with Mike Patton on Fantômas and Dead Cross. But here Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro and his live guitarist Mike Vennart have their hats on compositionally, and they can look as mangy and spin as they like, but they always slip something similar to a melody. For the true advocates of noise, this is sacrilege and pandering to the market, for the apologists for beautiful sound it’s the last straw they can hold on to.
