Emotional farewell to sisters Cécile and Livia: classmates form a guard of honor after service

Hilversum said an emotional farewell to sisters Cécile (14) and Livia (12). They died in early December in a collision with a wrong-way driver. After the private farewell service in Schouwburg Gooiland, (former) classmates formed a guard of honor for the sisters.

The Hilversum sisters were killed in early December when the car they were in was hit collided with a wrong-way driver on the A1 at the Hoevelaken junction. The wrong-way driver, a 19-year-old Romanian, also died in the collision.

The girls’ parents, Roelien and Luuc, were also in the car. They were seriously injured in the accident, but were present at the farewell service. Through the On behalf of the Family foundation, which assists the parents and other surviving relatives, they say the following: “Although our grief is transcendent, we take comfort from the enormous interest and support we have experienced in the past period. Our loss and sadness are will never be over. Our immense love for Cécile and Livia will always remain.”
