At the Emmy Awards that were presented in Los Angeles on Monday evening, the tragicomic drama series was the main focus The White Lotus in the prices. The Netflix series, which follows a group of wealthy American guests in a Hawaiian resort, won ten statuettes, including the prize for best miniseries. The protagonist of the South Korean series Squid Game Lee Jung-jae was the first Asian winner of an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series ever.
Also Squid Gamedirector Hwang Dong-hyuk received an Emmy for the series, which sees downtrodden South Koreans compete in children’s games to win a big cash prize.
