The young entrepreneur of the year is celebrating in Linna while still pregnant. Celebrates if her second child doesn’t decide to come into the world by stealth.
The Lehtomaa Castle party outfit was designed by Anni Ruuth. That’s thanks to the famous power of social media. When Lehtomaa published a picture of herself with the invitation letter, Ruuth had said on her social media channels on the same day that her calendar could fit one more Linna jupital outfit.
Ruuthi’s strong visual brand was already familiar to the social media professional, Lehtomaa.
The cooperation started quickly. Ruuth soon had the draft ready and Lehtomaa got to the first adjustments.
– I’m not usually the one who flaunts his clothes. I’m even quite careful. But I like Linna’s party once in a lifetime experience, so I wanted to contribute, says Lehtomaa.
– I also wanted to support female entrepreneurship. Ann and I also share a similar life situation, we are starting a family and growing our business, says Lehtomaa.

Future wedding dress?
Gold and beige suits are the first thing that comes to Lehtomaa’s mind.
– My husband and I haven’t gotten married yet. Maybe when the child is born and the calendar calms down, Lehtomaa says and hints that the dress might also work as a wedding dress in the future.
In the same breath, he states that because of the “overhang”, it may be challenging to modify the suit for a different body in the future.
– We focused on the fact that the suit looks good now.
Ruuth says that there is no time to be inspired in the Linna jullat costumes in the same way as with other outfits. They are designed with a strong reliance on intuition.
– The vision was a tight-fitting and a little – or not a little, but quite a lot – sexy outfit, the designer describes the Lehtomaa Linna party dress.
– Feathers and feathers are my trademark. The suit has, as it were, a crown made of feathers for the pregnant belly, Ruuth illustrates.
Ruuth is a rising fashion star who has already made numerous costumes for Linna. Among other things, Sanna Marini’s white Linna jullat outfit from 2018 is one of Ruuthi’s masterpieces. Marin later got married in the same outfit.

Pregnancy challenges
The costume project has been memorable for both Lehtomaa and Ruuth. Lehtomaa has suffered from vertigo towards the end of her pregnancy, but even the designer’s ability to work has not always been at its peak. Ruuth is also expecting her second child – the nausea of early pregnancy has sometimes tested the costume designer’s busiest season.
– We had to interrupt the dressmaking session at the tailor’s when I fainted while standing. We postponed the edits to another day. The schedule is tight anyway, so such delays have brought additional challenges, says Lehtomaa.
Because Lehtomaa’s pregnant belly has lived a life of its own and descended naturally like the end of pregnancy, other kinds of surprises have sometimes been experienced in the arrangements. Sometimes the waist circumference has decreased, sometimes increased.
On the morning of Independence Day, the dress will be fine-tuned so that it flatters Lehtomaa’s pregnancy body in the best possible way.
