The couple’s love story began more than 10 years ago, when they met in 2012. In the same year, Mikael celebrated his graduation party and graduated from Mäkelänrinte high school.

A fun wedding

The baby died

In 2020, the couple announced that they were expecting their second child. In her Instagram post, Emmi was happy that the baby was a girl.

– Well, who would have guessed. It’s a girl! My family hasn’t had a girl since 1990 and Mikael’s family hasn’t had a girl since 1967, so it’s about time! Emmi wrote.

Then they faced great sorrow when the little baby was born prematurely dead.

– Our little angel baby was born on Tuesday without a heartbeat. We find hope in knowing that he is watching over us as a guardian angel. We believe that everything has a purpose, Emmi wrote in her Instagram post at the time.

In March of this year, Mikael was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The family managed to live in Nashville for four years before the move.
