Sunday 16.10. it was 50 years since the first episode of Emmerdale aired on TV. The series created by Kevin Laffan became familiar to those British homes where the television was part of the equipment already in the fall of 1972. Until 1989, the series was known as Emmerdale Farm, until it was shortened to its current form. Nobody would have guessed at the time that the series would still be popular 50 years later, not only on the foggy island, but also in Finland.
