The municipality of Emmen reacted ‘surprisedly’ to the message that it will provide extra emergency shelter for asylum seekers in Ter Apel.
A spokesperson for the municipality said this via Twitter. “There is no decision or commitment.” The council declined to comment further on the message.
RTL Nieuws announced on Friday that Emmen would have promised the extra emergency shelter.
From next week there would also be extra reception places in Doetinchem, on a boat in Arnhem and 200 beds in residential units on the site of Delft University of Technology.
