Emmen in the picture for the first European branch of a Taiwanese company

A producer in the manufacturing industry from Taiwan has set his sights on the municipality of Emmen. The company may want to open its first European branch in Emmen.

According to the municipality, the company has now visited Emmen twice, the college writes in a letter to the city council. The company has invited the province of Drenthe and the municipality of Emmen to visit the country.

Councilor Guido Rink will therefore travel to Taiwan tomorrow and return on Tuesday. The purpose of the visit is to show what Emmen has to offer as a business location. The name of the company will not be disclosed due to ‘the confidential nature’. According to the municipality, the company in question will make a decision about coming to Emmen in the second quarter.

The work trip is combined with a visit to the Asus headquarters in the capital Taipei. The smartphone and computer manufacturer has had a branch in Emmen since 2000.
