Emma Wortelboer moves talk show newbie Khalid Kasem pretty much in place. According to her, his hammering on the relative obscurity of the new Eurovision entry is quite hypocritical.
The Jut and Jul who are going to the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of our country this year presented their song yesterday in the talk show Khalid & Sophie. Host Khalid Kasem spoke extensively with his guests about the singing duo, who were not at the table themselves. He pointed out several times that these Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper are so unknown.
Unknown names
Khalid also asks Emma at one point. “How about you Emma? You heard those names pass by. Did you think: that’s going to be something? Or did you also think: I don’t actually know them?”
Emma somewhat annoyed: “Yes, of course I thought: I don’t know them. It would be very strange if I had all these ideas at once.”
Emma caught
Khalid then to Cornald Maas: “Is Duncan Laurence also a kind of key to give a lot of confidence to this? These relative unknowns, who have never performed on such a large stage?”
It’s starting to bother Emma. She intervenes: “Didn’t you also sit here without experience?”
Khalid: “Yes, that happened. That’s right, Emma. It has to happen too, doesn’t it? And they have to show that on stage.”
Emma: “They just have to do it.”
Torpedo
Televizier journalist Jef Willemsen thinks Emma is witty. “Boom. Emma ‘if looks could kill’ Wortelboer torpedoes Khalid’s reasoning ?.”
By the way, what does Emma think of Mia and Dion’s song? “Arcade was more epic. This wasn’t very epic. A little more for the radio or something.”
