Emma Wortelboer is considering sending a text message to Johnny de Mol because she distanced herself so publicly from him in the spring. “I really should.”
Johnny de Mol immediately stopped presenting the talk show HLF8 in April due to the ongoing controversy surrounding his person. The presenter was increasingly bothered by the vehement accusations against him. For example, a number of guests did not even want to join him anymore. One of them was Emma Wortelboer.
Emma cancels Johnny
There wasn’t a hair on Emma’s head that thought about visiting Johnny again. “Of course you are with someone who is suspected of attempted murder, of course. That is quite a thing,” she said plainly on television. “I canceled.”
Emma was supposed to join the day the report of Johnny’s ex-girlfriend Shima Kaes leaked. “Yes, when that whole piece just came out. Then I thought: yes, then I can talk a bit about the Eurovision Song Contest, but that has become a very loaded thing in one go.”
Sorry text message
Now that the report against Johnny has been dropped, Emma thinks differently. “You were supposed to be a wingman then, Emma, but you thanked her then,” presenter Gijs Groenteman explains to her in the New Year’s Eve special of Media Inside.
Emma: “Yeah, I thought: this is way too hot.”
Marcel van Roosmalen: “Do you not regret that afterwards? We see Johnny’s innocence and he has also been proven innocent (this is not correct, the charges against Johnny have only been dropped, ed.). Will there be another text from you to Johnny, like: ‘Sorry, I misjudged you’?”

Emma to that: “I should actually do that.”
Fellow guest Britt Dekker: “Yes, because you didn’t want to record him then either.”
Emma: “What?! Yes.”
Britt: “He wanted to call you, didn’t he?”
Emma: “Yes, then I called him.”
‘Do not feel like’
Britt: “Oh, did you?”
Emma: “Yes, I did call him, but I thought: yes, that doesn’t change things. I didn’t really care if he was right or not. I was more concerned with the magnifying glass being so on that show. I thought: just hassle, no sense.”
