Emma Kimiläinen failed in the time trial of the Hungarian race.

The Finn only made it from the eighth starting grid. Frightened by the wet track, the jury decided that the start would take place behind the safety car, so Kimiläinen did not get the opportunity he missed to clear the positions in the start acceleration.

In the early stages of the race, the Finn briefly rose to sixth, but it was a tight battle by Jessica Hawkins with ended with the British driver spinning and the end of Kimiläinen’s race.

The Finn hung on the track for a while in tenth place, but eventually had to steer his car into the pits. He has now lost points in the last two races and the fight for even the silver medal in the WSeries series is starting to be lost.

The jury still had to take the safety car onto the track. However, Kimiläinen was no longer involved in the restart, which Alicia Powell dominated with his timely acceleration.

Powell eventually drove to his fifth career win ahead of the series leader by far Jamie Chadwick. At the same time, Chadwick’s winning streak that spanned no less than seven races was finally broken.
