Eminem nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

With his debut album INFINITE, released in 1996, Eminem qualified for induction into the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” – and was nominated for it. If he were included, he would be the second white rap act to do so, alongside the Beastie Boys. He would take his place alongside other hip-hop personalities such as Jay-Z, 2Pac and Notorious BIG.

A number of other musical luminaries have been nominated alongside Eminem. Classic rock includes Pat Benatar, Rage Against The Machine and Judas Priest. Additionally nominated are: New York Dolls, MC5, A Tribe Called Quest, Fela Kuti, Carly Simon, Beck, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Kate Bush, Devo and Eurythmics.

John Sykes, Chair of the Foundation, would like to focus on the diversity of different artists this year. The announcement of the chosen ones is to take place in May. Fans can vote for their favorite artist until the end of April vote.rockhall.com hand over.

Since 1986, a handful of artists have been chosen by approximately 1,000 music industry professionals and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The first requirement is the release date of the first record or CD. It must be at least 25 years old. The museum opened in September 1995.
