Belgian top manager Saar Debrouwere is the new managing director of the Florentine fashion house Emilio Pucci. WWD writes, citing a message that circulated within the company. Debrouwere is expected to take up her new post in July.
The internal communication came from LVMH, which has owned Emilio Pucci since June last year. The announcement states that Debrouwere will be responsible for “accelerating the evolution of Pucci by blending the brand’s lifestyle and resort roots with the creative modernity of Camille Miceli, the new Artistic Director.” Miceli has been responsible for the brand’s clothing and accessories collections since September 2021.
Debrouwere studied contemporary art and photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. She then worked as a project manager at the consultancy Ad!dict Creative Lab, in the retail department of the Belgian fashion label AF Vandevorst and as a collection director at Raf Simons.
Experienced internationally
In 2012 she joined Swedish brand Acne as ready-to-wear director, where she became director of all products in 2014. In 2020, she joined fashion label Icicle, which is based in Shanghai. She previously served there as Executive Vice President.
According to Sidney Toledano, chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, Debrouwere is perfectly prepared for the task with her “international experience in the product departments of various fashion houses”, quoted WWD. “Her energy, precision and enthusiasm are traits that will play a key role as she leads the entire team to success.”
The fashion house Emilio Pucci was founded in 1949. In 2022, the brand produces clothing and accessories for women and, to a lesser extent, for men. Pucci is known for its colorful prints and luxurious casual look. LVMH has been the majority shareholder of the brand since 2000 and took it over completely last year.
