“What a blessing. Such a beautiful new light in our lives”, writes Ratelband on Twitter about his son. The boy’s name is Maximus Aurelius Frans Rudolph Willibrord. That the newborn also listens to the name Willibrord is for the viewers of the Videoland documentary On hot coals No surprise. In it, Ratelband told his good friend Willibrord Frequin that he wants to name his ninth child after him.
Ratelband has eight children from four relationships. At the end of 2021 he emigrated to Thailand.
