Emil Ruusuvuoren the last grand slam tournament of the season, the US Open, ended immediately in the opening round, when the Finn lost to the British To Jack Draper directly in three installments.
The set scores went to Draper quite clearly 6–4, 6–3 and 6–3. Rusuvuori managed to break only one of Draper’s passes in the match.
– There were too many mistakes today when I tried to be aggressive. My chances often ended with mistakes, so in that sense it was a bad performance, Ruusuvuori told the Tennisliito news.
Ruusuvuori and Draper met earlier this year at the ATP tournament in London in June. At that time, Ruusuvuori beat Draper in two sets.
On the ATP list, Draper is four places lower than Ruusuvuuti. Ruusuvuori continues in the US Open in doubles against the Slovenian Aljaž Bedenen roll.
