The Great Dictation of the Dutch Language was won this year by Emiel Heuff from Groningen and Walter Oussoren from Alphen aan den Rijn. This became known on Saturday evening during the broadcast of the KRO-NCRV program De taalstaat on NPO Radio 1, live from Rozet in Arnhem.
Emiel Heuff (who works at an architectural firm) and Walter Oussoren (Dutch teacher) both made only eight errors in the dictation. That was enough for the win: on average, participating listeners of De Taalstaat made 20 mistakes.
Among the prominent figures, author Lydia Rood made the dictation the best. On average, the prominent figures had 35 errors, Lydia Rood only made 10 errors.
