Even so, Fittipaldi himself, who in his day expressed his surprise with the signing of the Spanish Fernando Alonso by the Aston Martin team for the next campaign, has acknowledged that he will participate in the elections and that he already contemplates several proposals in case of being elected.

“I am very happy to be a candidate for the Italian Senate in the elections on September 25. I have already put several proposals on paper and they all aim to promote actions related to Brazilians who have strong ties to Italian lands, culture and sport. I hope to have the support of the voters of Brazil and Latin America, but also of those who live in Italy, and of the Italians who have always been my supporters”, explains Fittipaldi, 75, in a statement published this Monday by ‘ Il Giornale’.

Meloni, leader of the far-right Brothers of Italy, starts as the favorite for the general elections on September 25 and the polls give her the support of a fifth of Italians to be the next prime minister.
