Emergency services gathered en masse for a fight that ultimately turns out to be not too bad in Waregem

At 1:30 am, the emergency center received a shocking phone call. They were called up for a fight in the summer bar of the Waregem hippodrome, where, according to the caller, someone had been thrown down the stairs during a fight with 50 people. The emergency services arrived en masse: a mosquito was even called out. In the end, none of this turned out to be necessary.

Once on site, the damage turned out to be not too bad: only a few were fighting. Quinten Foulon, the owner of the summer bar, tells his story. “In the course of the evening, one person was denied access. He has been running amok for the past few days. A friend of his made the fury when we wanted to close the summer bar around 1 am. He attacked the security and our staff, who tried themselves to defend.”

There were no serious injuries. Emergency services provided first aid at the scene. In the end, no one had to be taken to hospital. Only one person was briefly handcuffed for rebellion against the police.

The summer bar is trying to avoid such an incident with a few measures.
