EM in Rome: Elena and Christina Wassen win bronze in diving

The sisters Christina and Elena Wassen won the bronze medal in synchronized diving from the tower at the European Championships in Rome.

23-year-old Christina Wassen and her two-year-old sister received 289.86 points for their five jumps in the Foro Italico on Saturday (08/20/2022). They were beaten only by gold medalists Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Lois Toulson from Great Britain and Sofija Lyskun and Ksenija Bailo from Ukraine. Only four couples took part in the competition.

Fifth medal for Germany

Christina Wassen already won the second medal in these title fights. The jumper from the Berlin TSC finished third in the individual from a height of ten meters. Overall, it was the fifth medal in the continental title fights for the German jumpers. Previously there had been two gold and two bronze medals in the Italian capital.
