EM in England | National player Bühl tested positive for corona virus

National soccer player Klara Bühl tested positive for the corona virus one day before the EM semi-finals and will miss the game against France, the DFB announced.

“She is currently symptom-free and was immediately isolated. Further tests of the entire team and staff were negative,” said the association. The 21-year-old FC Bayern Munich attacking player had started all four games and also scored a goal in the 2-0 win against Spain.

“Positive and still positive!” Bühl wrote in a first reaction on social media. “My team will make the stadium celebrate tomorrow and impress you with great football! I’m already looking forward to the game and I’ll give everything to be able to be back on the pitch with the girls soon!”

Scorer Lea Schüller had already tested positive for the virus at the European Championship. She has since been released from quarantine. With the exception of Bühl, national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is available for all players. Bühl could be replaced by Jule Brand on July 27 (9 p.m. CEST/ZDF and DAZN).
