EM in England | Lyon professional Däbritz: “Tight” semi-final game against France

Sara Däbritz expects “a close, exciting” semi-final match between Germany and her chosen home country France at the European Championships in England.

“It will be important for us that we concentrate on our strengths, because they are enormous. If we have a lot of courage, then I’m sure we can beat this opponent,” said the 27-year-old midfielder of the DFB selection at a press conference in Brentford on Sunday.

The record European champions will play against the French in Milton Keynes on July 27 (21:00 CEST/ZDF and DAZN) for a place in the final on July 31 in Wembley. Däbritz was last three years under contract with Paris Saint-Germain and switched to Champions League winners Olympique Lyon this summer. The two clubs make up the clear majority of the France squad.

“With France, we can expect an opponent on an equal footing, a strong opponent who also has his strengths in switching behavior with his many fast players,” said the 90-time national player.
