EM dress rehearsal for DFB women against Switzerland – easy 7-0 for Germany

Triple goal scorer Bühl satisfied with the performance

The DFB team got off to a good start against the Swiss, who the national coach looked after from 2012 to 2018. After a fine pass from Magull, Bühl headed all alone towards Swiss goalkeeper Gaelle Thalmann and successfully completed the early lead. That gave additional security. The German team controlled the game and was hardly challenged defensively.

Shortly before the break, Voss-Tecklenburg’s protégés were rewarded for their constant efforts. This time Bühl hung up after a fine solo for Magull, who scored from close range to make it 2-0. “The first half was pretty good too. During the break we addressed things that we wanted to implement. And that worked out very well,” said Bühl.

In fact, the German team continued to have everything under control. Svenja Huth (54th) initially missed the 3-0 when she failed to free-standing against Thalmann. But Bühl aimed better a little later – albeit unintentionally. A cross from the Bayern striker from the left wing hit the far corner.

Once up and running, the 21-year-old followed suit just five minutes later. After a shot by Lea Schüller, Bühl was in the right place and put the ball into the empty goal. When she was substituted almost 20 minutes before the end, the triple scorer was greeted with great applause. The DFB women didn’t let up in the closing stages either and scored two late goals.

Here you can read the course of the game in the minute log:

Final whistle: That’s it! Germany wins with a strong performance 7:0 against Switzerland. After a decent first half, the team of national coach Voss-Tecklenburg really turned up the heat in the second round. Klara Bühl, who scored three goals, was particularly convincing. From a German point of view, the EM can come in this form.

90th +5 minutes: 7th:0 for Germany, scorer Lohmann

Now it gets adventurous: The Swiss women completely lose the line. Two meters in front of goalkeeper Thalmann, the central defenders put the ball in front of Lohmann’s feet. The woman from Munich only has to shoot in and cheers very cautiously. Because that’s almost slapstick. It doesn’t matter to the audience, it celebrates this smashing victory exuberantly.

89 minutes: 6:0 for Germany, goalscorer Brand

Now everything is really working for the DFB team: Dallmann brings the ball into the center from the left. Brand is waiting there, who simply tries it at an acute angle – and hits it. A great goal, but goalkeeper Thalmann looks anything but happy.
