EM | DHB team against Hungary without boxing

Germany’s handball players have to make do without right winger Timo Kastening in the groundbreaking European Championship main round game against Hungary.

The Melsunger will miss the game on Monday evening (8:30 p.m. / ZDF and Dyn) in Cologne due to an infection, as the German Handball Association (DHB) announced shortly before kick-off.

For Kastening, Lukas Zerbe from TBV Lemgo Lippe is joining national coach Alfred Gislason’s 16-man matchday squad. The left-hander had not yet been with the DHB team, but should be available for possible use. The 28-year-old only traveled to Cologne on Monday afternoon.

Martin Hanne is also taking a break against the Hungarians. His Hanoverian teammate Renars Uscins is in the squad to replace him. Uscins had had to miss the 22:22 draw against Austria two days earlier.
