France prevailed in a dramatic European Championship semi-final. The Olympic champion won against Sweden in a thrilling extra time with 34:30. After 60 minutes the score was 27:27. The French equalized with an impressive goal from Elohim Prandi in the last second.
In general, the game was a thrilling roller coaster ride. France dominated the first half and led 17:11 at the break. But in the second half the Scandinavians started a thrilling comeback and led by two goals at one point.
In the final second, the French got another direct free throw, which Prandi converted. In extra time, the team around superstar Dika Mem dominated the action and took the win. France’s best scorer was left winger Hugo Descat with eight goals. Felix Claar (8) from Champions League winner SC Magdeburg was the best thrower for the Swedes.
