Almost 50 years after his death, Elvis Presley joins the world of “immersive concerts”. Like ABBA and Kiss, the “Jailhouse Rock” singer is getting his own hologram show, which is scheduled to start in London in November under the name “Elvis Evolution”. The project will later travel around the world, visiting London, Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin, among others. The Elvis experience is made possible by numerous private photo and video recordings.
A life-sized Elvis comes on stage to perform
The rights for the project have been secured by the company “Layered Reality”, which has already created similar concepts for “Gunpowder Plot” and “War of the Worlds”. The Elvis Evolution website, where interested parties can already be put on the waiting list for an appointment, explain the concept as follows: “The show culminates in a concert experience that gives a whole new generation of fans the impression of experiencing Elvis live and the limits blurred between reality and fantasy. A life-size, digital Elvis will perform his most iconic songs and moves on a British stage for the first time ever.”
Video announcing “Elvis Evolution”:
It is not yet known where exactly “Elvis Evolution” will move into the center of the English capital, but it is already clear that it will be an all-round package. After the virtual concert experience, an after-party with live music, DJs and performances will take place in a restaurant including a bar. The entire location will be themed around the “Hound Dog” singer.
“Priscilla” currently in cinemas
While the “King of Rock’n’Roll” will soon be doing gigs again (at least virtually), the film “Priscilla” was recently dedicated to his wife Priscilla Presley. The biopic is currently showing in cinemas. The director of the work, Sofia Coppola, was a guest at ROLLING STONE for an interview. Check out the conversation here.
