In honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th Jubilee, the BBC is hosting a live event at Buckingham Palace on July 4th entitled the ‘Platinum Party in the Park’.
Numerous stars
Queen + Adam Lambert, Elton John and Diana Ross will perform at the event. Also appearing at the “Platinum Party” are David Attenborough, David Beckham and British tennis player Emma Raducanu, among others.
Queen guitarist Brian May returns 20 years after appearing on the roof of Buckingham Palace during the 70th Jubilee celebrations – which marked the 50th anniversary of the throne. Now he and Roger Taylor, along with Adam Lambert, will open the July 4th event. In addition, Elton John recorded a performance from Italy. Also performing is Sam Ryder, who took second place in the Eurovision Song Contest at the weekend.
“Twenty years after playing at the Queen’s glorious Golden Jubilee, we are delighted to be invited back. Then there was a moment where I was like, ‘Where else can you go after the roof of Buckingham Palace?’ Well, you’ll see!” said Queen’s Brian May. It is not yet clear whether the event will be broadcast on television in this country.
