The gig at the Glastonbury Festival is said to have been Elton John’s last performance in the UK.
Elton John played his last concert ever in the UK on Sunday (25th June) at the Glastonbury Festival. The 76-year-old came up with something special for this: for his song “Tiny Dancer” he brought The Killers singer Brandon Flowers on stage to perform the song with him.
“I first met my next guest in 2005 when I started playing in Las Vegas. He came to my hotel suite to show me his band’s first album called HOT FUSS,” he announced to Flowers. “We’ve been friends ever since and he was the first person I considered singing with, despite having played at Glastonbury six times with The Killers. Introducing my dear friend and amazing artist, Brandon Flowers!”

Elton John brought other guests on stage at his Glastonbury gig. With Rina Sawayama, John sang “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”. 20-year-old Stephen Sanchez performed his song “Until I Found You” with the Oscar winner. For “Are You Ready For Love” he received support from Jacob Lusk and the London Community Gospel Choir. “When I was choosing my guests for the show, I wanted newer artists, with the exception of one person,” John revealed to the audience during the show.
