Tesla CEO still ‘concerned’ about bots

Musk’s backtracking could have dire consequences

Elon Musk had already put his Twitter purchase on hold in May so he could review the data of fake and spam accounts of the application. The CEO would be willing to pull out of the deal altogether if things go their way.

On Monday, via a letter addressed to Twitter Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde and made public on the US Securities and Exchange Commission website, Musk accused Twitter of not abiding by the terms of their merger agreement and then recalled that it still has the right to abandon the acquisition and “terminate the merger agreement” as a result of Twitter’s breach.

The data referred to are those referring to the fake and spam accounts from Twitter. Musk has repeatedly expressed that he does not believe that Twitter’s estimates are accurate and has requested that he be provided with the data necessary to make his own analysis on the matter.
