“I don’t think it was right to ban Donald Trump from Twitter,” Musk said at a Financial Times virtual conference. Musk said banning Trump was a “morally wrong decision” and undermined trust in Twitter. “If there are tweets that are wrong or bad, they should either be deleted or made invisible, and a temporary suspension is appropriate, but not a permanent ban,” Musk said.
44 billion
The world’s richest man reached an agreement with Twitter late last month to buy the platform for about $44 billion. Musk has already sold more than $8.5 billion in Tesla shares to pay for the takeover, secured multi-billion dollar loans from banks and also knocked on the door of various investors.
Trump has previously announced that he has no intention of returning to Twitter. Instead, he wants to continue to focus on his own social media platform Truth Social.
