Tesla billionaire Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter for $ 44 billion in late April. In May, however, the man changed his mind, saying he would put the stores “temporarily on hold” because of Twitter’s junk accounts. A few hours after that announcement, however, Musk said he was “committed to the acquisition”.

Rowing and felting continue, as Musk has now threatened to withdraw from the shops, citing the fact that Twitter has not provided him with information about the service’s user base. BBC Muskin reported in a letter to the company that he had the right to measure the number of fake accounts himself.

The letter is a continuation of a weeks-long controversy that began with putting stores on hold. Musk has said it believes the share of junk and bot accounts is much higher than five per cent of all users, as Twitter has previously publicly stated.

– As a potential owner of Twitter, Mr Musk has a clear right to the information requested so that he can prepare to take over the Twitter business and facilitate the financing of his transactions. To do this, he must have a complete and accurate understanding of the core content of Twitter’s business model – its active user base, Musk’s lawyer Mike Ringler write a letter.

Musk sees Twitter trying to stop him from getting important information.

– This is a material breach of Twitter’s obligations under the Merger Agreement, and Mr. Musk reserves all rights under it, including his right not to execute the transaction and to terminate the Merger Agreement, as stated in the letter.

Twitter said in a statement it will share its information with Musk to complete the deals.

If Musk withdraws from the deals, he could face billion-dollar sanctions and possible prosecution.
