Apple and Disney have stopped advertising on the X service (formerly Twitter) after Elon Musk expressed agreement with a publication that accused Jews of inciting hatred against white people. Among other things, they reported on the matter CNN and CNBC.

The media companies Warner Bros Discovery, Paramount Global, Lions Gate Entertainment and NBC Universal are also ending advertising campaigns in X. So is Comcast, which owns Bravo, Xfinity and CNBC.

In addition to Elon Musk’s comments, the companies have probably been troubled by a report by the Media Matters for America organization, which stated that, among other things, advertisements from IBM, Bravo and Oracle were shown Adolf Hitler and in connection with his pro-Nazi publications.

As many as 163 Jewish leaders, activists, and academics have issued a statement about Musk’s behavior, calling on companies like Disney, Apple, and Amazon to stop funding the X service with ads.

Even the White House has condemned Musk’s publications about Jews and emphasizes that repeating anti-Semitic lies is unacceptable, reports Axios.

X-service published on Friday blog postin which it accused the organization Media Matters of deliberately seeking pro-Nazi content for its example images in a way that “distorts the true user experience” and could “mislead advertisers.”

The Independent according to Musk has threatened to sue Media Matters for America and “all others who attacked the company”.

– Many of the biggest advertisers are the biggest suppressors of freedom of speech, Musk wrote.

The departure of large companies’ advertisements from X has led to the fact that several right-wing influencers in the United States have promised to support Musk by buying advertisements from the X service. Mashable according to at least eight right-wing media personalities and groups have promised to buy ads from X for more than 1.6 million dollars.

Also a former kickboxer known for his misogyny and extreme right-wing views Andrew Tate has said it will support the X service with $1 million a month. Charges of rape and human trafficking have been brought against the popular YouTuber and social media influencer in Romania, in connection with which the country’s authorities estimate the value of his property to be around ten million dollars. Supporting Musk’s service would wipe out Tate’s fortune in less than 12 months.
