What he found, however, is that while FSD users often have to confirm their attention to the vehicle by, for example, moving the steering wheel, which some Tesla owners find annoying, greentheonly reported that the FSD software in his experiment with the Elon Mode did not demand attention from the driver. The vehicle drives autonomously without warning the driver to touch the steering wheel or direct their gaze to the road.
In addition, greentheonly informed in the Twitter thread that the system apparently still changes lanes arbitrarily. Most of the problems he had were mainly due to myopia, which led to unnecessary lane changes. “If you let the car run wild, other people’s street hype would be a real problem,” says greentheonly. Another problem is lane changes, which are necessary to get past slower cars, but which the vehicle cannot carry out.
Among other things, he also noted that while Tesla is working on the problems with potholes and road debris, these would pose real dangers today.
