Pekka Virta will not continue as SaiPa’s head coach, reports ElmoTV.
According to information from ElmoTV, Virta and SaiPa canceled the contract on Thursday by mutual agreement.
Iltalehti reached Virra, who did not comment on the matter.
Virta, 53, took the helm of SaiPa just over a year ago as a fresh Finnish champion.
There has been no result in Lappeenranta. Last season, SaiPa finished second to last. This fall has been even more painful: 11 matches, one win, 13 goals scored.
In addition to SaiPa, Virta has been the head coach of KalPa, Tepsi, Ässi and Lukko at the league level.
