Queen Elizabeth was really upset about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s separation from the British court, says a new book of revelations.
Royal Correspondent by Katie Nicholl a new book The New Royals – Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown tells, among other things, about the queen’s relationship with her grandson Harry and his family. An excerpt from the book has been published Vanity Fair -in leaf.
Harry and Meghan announced at the beginning of 2020 that they would leave their official duties at the British court and move to Meghan’s home country of the United States. The decision attracted widespread attention, as rumors about Meghan’s difficulties adjusting to the court had been heard for a long time.

In the book, Queen Elizabeth is described as having been hurt by the dukes’ decision, but wanted to leave “the door open” if they ever wanted to return. For this reason, the couple’s British home, Forgmore Cottage, was kept in their name.
“The Queen was deeply hurt by Harry’s decision to leave his family and country, but wanted to make sure he could always return with his wife and children. For now, Frogmore Cottage still belongs to them, Nicholl writes.
The night village was missed
According to Nicholl, a friend of the queen says she was exhausted from the turmoil after the decision to leave.
– He was really hurt and told me “I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore”, says the friend.
Elisabeth was also saddened by the fact that, due to the Duke couple’s move, she did not see their children Archie and Lilibet as often as she would have liked. The Queen reportedly only met Lilibet once in June when Harry and Meghan arrived in London for the Jubilee celebrations.
According to the book, in August, the queen organized a traditional night village party at Balmoral Castle, to which all grandchildren and great-grandchildren were welcome. Harry’s family didn’t show up.

The Queen died at the age of 96 on September 8. Harry and Meghan were in Europe at the time and they flew to London after hearing about Elizabeth’s deteriorating health. Harry left to hurry to his grandmother’s side towards Balmoral Castle, but didn’t get there before her death.
The Duke and Duchess stayed in mourning at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and attended the Queen’s funeral on September 19. The royal family is believed to have become closer after the Queen’s death, but Harry’s memoirs to be published at the end of the year may tear open old wounds, the book says.
Harry and Meghan are also currently working on a documentary series about their lives. It has been reported in the British media that the royal family is excited about what kind of revelations or claims will emerge from the memoirs and the documentary.
