So let’s say that I take them that they have made all four half-way points“, he said.
And he continued: «So they are there very quiet, with me by my side. And they work 24 hours a day. This is important. Which, on the other hand, men do not have … Luckily we women … I am from Emilia and despite being so emancipated I believe that we women have a duty that is the one in our DNA. The interview with Courier after the controversy
The statements of the 53-year-old businesswoman have aroused a great media fuss. The choice of hiring women in management roles only after the age of forty has been criticized by many on social networks (and not only). It has been defined, among other things, a shame, an example of “slavery”, a sensational step back from the much desired gender equality.
In a’exclusive interview to the Corriere della Sera, Elisabetta Franchi wanted to have her say. “I do not accept exploitation: I am a woman entrepreneur at the head of a company with a turnover of 131 million and which has also supported the family, with great effort. How can someone who has 80 percent of the female workforce be against women?She wondered.
And he continued: «I tried to give an answer to the absence of women in the hierarchical positions of fashion: the conclusion is that female managers in our environment do not exist, because when a thirty-year-old is absent for maternity, she does not find the position she had left. And this is because the state is unable to give the support that exists elsewhere ».
To the CourierElisabetta Franchi also declared: «People think that the work of fashion is all a glitter: it is a very hard reality, in which you have to stay on track and catch a plane. I myself am a mother who was in the company three days after the Caesarean section: it was violence ».
And on the future he concludes: “We are in an era in which defending men can be a false step, but in which women must be supported: I hope to find more female executives in the future, as of today I don’t see any“.
