Eline Vedder from Ruinerwold was installed in the House of Representatives today. She took the oath and vow together with two other new MPs, Eva Akerboom (Party for the Animals) and Bart van den Brink (CDA).
“The committee has come to the conclusion that they have rightly been declared members of the House of Representatives of the States General, and have decided to admit them,” said Renske Leijten (SP) of the Committee for the Verification of the Credentials of the know the House of Representatives.
Vedder succeeds Member of Parliament Jaco Geurts, who will become acting mayor of Maasdriel next month. Van den Brink of the CDA succeeds Agnes Mulder, she also said goodbye to the House of Representatives. Mulder will be the new director of VNO-NCW MKB Noord on 1 June.
With the arrival of Vedder in the House of Representatives and the departure of Mulder, the number of Drenthe votes remains the same. “The voice of the North, and the people of the countryside, is the first thing I will put in my suitcase,” Vedder said earlier. As of today, Vedder has stopped as a CDA member of Parliament, and she is no longer a board member at LTO Noord.
