The French clothing group SMCP presented a new boss for its label Maje on Wednesday. Elina Kousourna will become CEO of the brand on April 17, the company said in a statement. The 39-year-old succeeds Charlotte Tasset Ferrec, who has headed the label since early last year.
Kousourna has been with the Group since 2015 and has been CEO of the Fursac brand since November 2019. Even with her upcoming move to the helm of Maje, she will continue to support Fursac’s teams until a new manager is found for the label, SMCP said.
The personnel decision shows that the group, which also owns the brands Sandro and Claudie Pierlot in addition to Maje and Fursac, attaches great importance to the promotion of talent and “internal mobility”, emphasized SMCP CEO Isabelle Guichot in a statement.
Kousourna has played a “key role” in SMCP’s growth since 2015, the CEO said. For her and Judith Milgrom, the founder and designer of Maje, it was therefore a “natural” decision to appoint the previous Fursac CEO to the top of the brand. In her new role, Kousourna will be tasked with driving Maje’s expansion while implementing the group’s priorities, Guichot said.
