Wife of the late politician Ilkka Kanerva Elina Kanerva has got a new tattoo in memory of her husband.
Elina published a picture of the tattoo Instagram– account. The tattoo on the upper arm combines Ilka’s name and a detailed rose. In the caption, Elina says that the rose was an important symbol in her and Ilka’s relationship.
– Today it was 5 months since my beloved husband passed away. For us, the rose was our thing and meaningful in many ways. That’s why I also felt it was important to immortalize it – I will never forget you, Elina writes.

Elina’s Instagram account is private, so the picture is only visible to followers.
Elina got her first tattoo in honor of her husband in April. At that time, he took Ilka’s name on the left side of his nameless one. The new rose tattoo is significantly larger, as it is almost the entire length of the upper arm.
Ilkka Kanerva, who worked as an MP and minister in the coalition, died in April at the age of 74. According to Iltalehti, Ilkka had cancer, but kept his health a secret from many.
Ilkka and Elina were together since 1999. They got engaged in 2011 and the wedding was celebrated in May 2019. Both have children from their previous unions.
