Eleven women file a complaint because they were drugged via a shot or drink at a Walloon party | Inland

In the case of the administration of drugs at a party in the Walloon Dampicourt (province of Luxembourg), another four women have filed a complaint. This is reported by the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office. That brings the total to eleven. An investigation had already been launched after seven young women said they had been given narcotics. The party took place from April 30 to May 1.

Four of the victims said they noticed a trace of a prick on their arm or buttocks the day after the party. The seven others, in turn, talked about the presence of a suspicious substance in their drink.

They all suffered from various similar symptoms, both during and after the party. These included dizziness, memory loss, fainting and increased salivation, as well as pain in the neck, stomach and eyes. A blood sample has already been taken from eight of the eleven victims, the Luxembourg prosecutor’s office confirms.

“dirty feeling”

A few days ago, the umbrella organization of student clubs in Kortrijk started an awareness campaign about ‘drink spiking’. There are reports almost weekly in the largest student city in West Flanders.

Chairwoman Gail Buysschaert (23) experienced it herself three times. “At a party in Zwevegem, in the entertainment district in Kortrijk and in dancing Diedjies in Kuurne. I was lucky enough to have always been surrounded by the right friends. That was my salvation, because that’s how I got home unscathed. Although it is a dirty feeling to wake up without remembering anything. It pissed me off. And I cried a lot. Because I had a lot of questions. Did someone do something inappropriate to me or not? It’s hell you have to go through. And it is immediately a first tip. Never leave someone alone if you see that person is not doing well.”

“Filing a complaint is usually a big step. Students are ashamed, they are afraid of their parents’ reaction… That is why we have set up a platform where you can report facts easily and anonymously. In this way we obtain evidence to consult with the city and the police and to arrive at any additional measures. It feels good to be believed, you can’t reduce everything to ‘they drank too much’.”
