Two BVB and Bayern professionals each
The ninth Bundesliga matchday also had a few highlights apart from the classic between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern. Borussia Mönchengladbach clearly won the Rheinderby against 1. FC Köln (5:2), VfL Bochum managed their first win of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt (3:0) and Xabi Alonso celebrated a successful debut with Bayer 04 Leverkusen against Schalke 04. The “ Werkself” after the 4-0 (2-0) victory, the eleven of the match day chosen by the TM community also dominated.
In addition to coach Alonso, who made it to the touchline straight away on his debut, Bayer 04 also have the two players with the most votes in Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong. 65 percent of the users voted for Diaby, who scored the opening goal and also provided two assists, while 78 percent of the participants voted for Frimpong, who scored twice.
With three nominations, Leverkusen has the largest block in the team of the week. It was enough for two players each at Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern, who drew 2-2 in the top game on Saturday evening. Goalscorer Youssoufa Moukoko and central defender Nico Schlotterbeck, who prepared the equalizer in the final minute, also impressed on the Black and Yellow side. Leon Goretzka and Jamal Musiala made it into the eleven for Munich.
Alongside keeper Tomas Koubek, Schlotterbeck and Musiala, who scored both Bayern goals, are the only two pros in the eleven who didn’t score a goal at the weekend. All other nominees – Ramy Bensebaini (Gladbach), Paul Jaeckel (Union), Philipp Förster (Bochum) and Niclas Füllkrug (Werder) – were successful for their teams.
