A broken elevator caused the necessary problems in a flat on the Griegstraat in Tilburg on Wednesday evening. One of the residents, a woman in a mobility scooter, was unable to return to her home on the fifth floor. The fire brigade came to the rescue with a cherry picker.
The elevator broke down around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. A mechanic came to fix the problems and this should have happened around 4pm. However, this turned out not to be the case.
For the woman in the scooter, this meant that she could not return to her home on her own. The solution lay with the fire brigade. A cherry picker was lifted. First, the woman was taken to the fifth floor with the aerial platform. On the balcony, firefighters were ready to get her safely out of the platform of the aerial platform.
When this was successful, the bucket of the aerial platform sank down. The scooter was then placed in the tray and raised in the same manner.
The elevator is not expected to be repaired until Saturday.
