Elegance meets dynamic – adidas presents new DFB jerseys

Herzogenaurach,– adidas today unveiled the new home and away jerseys that the German men’s national team will wear at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The special feature is the new home jersey, as it is a uniform jersey design for the men’s and women’s national teams – as a common jersey for Germany. The new home shirt will be worn for the first time by the women’s national team in the World Cup qualifier against Turkey on September 3rd.

The new home jersey is all about elegance and team spirit. Inspired by the very first Germany kit from 1908, the distinctive black stripe runs vertically across the front of the white kit. The golden DFB and adidas logos are placed in the middle of the chest. Finally, details applied to the round collar and the sides pick up the colors of the German national flag. Black shorts and white socks complete the high quality home look.

“It’s a cool and strong sign: This jersey symbolizes that we all stand for one football, live the same values together and have one goal. We want to be successful and role models for the many girls and boys who love this sport as much as we do,” says Lina Magull, soccer player for the German women’s national team. “We look forward to wearing this common jersey at both the 2022 Men’s World Cup and the 2023 Women’s World Cup.”

“I really like the new home shirt. The color combination is very harmonious, it will be an honor to play for Germany at the World Cup in this jersey,” says Serge Gnabry, soccer player for the German men’s national team.

The new red and black away shirt for the men’s national team features a dynamic pattern that runs across the entire front. The golden DFB and adidas logos are placed side by side on the chest in a classic way. The also golden three stripes over the shoulders refine the look of the jersey. The outfit is completed by black shorts and socks with red accents. The current mint green away jersey will remain in use for the women’s national team.

When presenting the new DFB jerseys, the brand with the three stripes chose an unconventional approach. Even before the release, the jerseys could be seen in some social media videos by the German rapper Pajel. The artist teased his new song “So wie wir”, which was specially produced for the new presentation of the DFB jerseys. The project was implemented with the entertainment platform TikTok. The song was first performed by Pajel at the adidas Made Originals event in Berlin on August 27th and is now available on all streaming platforms.

The new home and away jersey for the men’s national team is now available from adidas.de, the adidas stores, the official DFB fan shop and selected retailers.
