Electric vans: here are the ones suitable for zero-emission deliveries

Who transports the goods? Who delivers the item that we have conveniently purchased online to our home? All these deliveries are generally made by light commercial vehicles, meaning fully loaded vans of around three and a half tons or a little over. Almost all of these vehicles are fueled by diesel. But today (and tomorrow even more) the regulations impose ever more restrictive limitations on the access of the most polluting vehicles in the major municipalities. Alternative power supplies such as methane have been available for some time. But electric vans are emerging with increasing force. Virtually all manufacturers today have a battery-powered version of their flagship model in the range. The average range may seem low compared to what is available for cars. But for the realistic use of a commercial vehicle and the logistics that go around it (in this case the availability of charging points), today’s batteries are more than enough for a day’s work. The prices of the vehicle are often high, however in this field we reason by Tco, or “total cost of ownership”, that is how much is spent in the medium-long term considering all the items: purchase price, taxes, duties and insurance, fuel and maintenance. Given current regulations and the current state of technology, on average an electric van will equal the TCO of a corresponding diesel vehicle in about 4-5 years. Guaranteeing the possibility to circulate anytime and anywhere, an irreplaceable added value. In addition to shorter periods of vehicle downtime thanks to less maintenance required. We have therefore grouped the electric vans sold in Italy by PTT (total ground weight) around 3.5 tons. Indicating the main technical data such as power, autonomy on the combined cycle Wltp, length, wheelbase, Ptt, capacity, weight in running order and list price (naturally excluding VAT, in the case of commercial vehicles). We have indicated, where available, the minimum and maximum values ​​relating to the entry and top-of-the-range versions, mainly based on the different types of bodywork.
