Elderly biker Jan from Gieten is 90 years old and still goes at least 90 km/h every Sunday

Jan got his driver’s license at the age of eighteen, he bought his first motorcycle when he had been married for 25 years, despite his wife not agreeing. And that first motorcycle was a BMW, the brand he has remained loyal to all these years. “I think that two-cylinder is a nice engine. There are also four-cylinder ones, my son has one of those, but I like this better. I’m old-fashioned.”

The sound of the engine makes the biker’s heart beat faster. “Yes, that sounds nice, doesn’t it?”, says Regien while he opens the throttle again. But the love of motorcycling for him is mainly in the free feeling he gets. “The great outdoors, the free overview. You can cross the back roads, you don’t always have to take the highways. I can go fast, but I don’t have to. I don’t know how fast this bike wants, but it can go 200 kilometers per But that’s not going to happen today,” says Regien with a laugh.
